Is this the fabled Fen Tiger?
I was out walking around the Clunch Pit in Orwell back in February, when I noticed a large black cat across the other side of the pit. It seemed to be around the size of a large dog (say, a labrador), but was definitely feline. It was sitting down, watching me as I walked around the pit. As I reached the other side, it got up, and slinked off into the undergrowth. Sadly, the only camera I had was a ropey old camera phone - no zoom, useless plastic lens, low resolution etc. Hence the rather murky black blob.
There are a lot of sightings of British Big Cats on record, several photos, and even some video evidence.
Wikipedia reckons it was probably a black panther. An Orwell resident reckoned it was a Muntjac Deer. My wife reckons it is a few black pixels on a smudgy out of focus picture. What do you think?
