I found myself in the studio for a couple of days recording an American (pump) Reed Organ, a Bamboo Saxaphone, and a virtual 8 part choir. All for the same song. However, the reed organ is about 60 cents sharp (copious use of a Time & Pitch Machine managed to sort this out), the Bamboo Sax has somewhat variable tuning (AutoTune to the rescue), and my choral talents are not quite what they could be (extensive editing, with a sprinkling of AutoTune). After surgery, everything seems to be progressing along quite nicely, in a “it makes you want to kill yourself” sort of way.
I stumbled across The Covers Project today. Essentially it tells you whose songs a particular artist has covered (and also who has covered that artists songs). I'd quite like to see the same sort of thing for producers and session musicians, so that I don't have to carry this sort of nonsense about in my head.
